Tonight at the Abbey, we hosted a chess simul with International Master Andrew Ledger. Everyone seemed to enjoy the experience, despite the fact that Andrew soundly thrashed us all, the final result was 17 – 0!
In my game I lost a pawn early on, but got a nicely positioned knight. Around the midway point, Andrew got his own knight in to my position, creating all kinds of havoc, and my nicely positioned knight bit the dust! A piece and 2 pawns down, I tried to get an attack going down the h file, but Andrew had all bases covered.
Brilliant event though, and Andrew was kind enough to offer feedback after the games.
