We were following the British OTB Championship with some interest. One of our members, IM Andrew Ledger, was doing rather well, and after 8 rounds, he was in joint 1st place. Alas, after losing his last round match, Andrew finished the tournament in joint 2nd place. A really impressive performance still, especially considering the rating of some of his opponents.
